Why do I need to add a boiler treatment solution to my outdoor wood stove?

Answer:

In short, outdoor wood stoves or any hydronic heating device has a firebox surrounded by a water jacket, and also pumps water through the system. This water must be treated to prevent the unit from rusting out. You also want to control nitrate levels for safety reasons.
